Homeowner Tips!

What is the one thing you have always heard about buying and selling Real Estate? LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! This law of Real Estate has not changed but it is supplemented. The other factor of Real Estate in our current market is Location, Location, Condition.

It is important that you keep your home in good condition, especially if you are thinking of selling in the near future. When you are faced with competition of properties in your price range condition is usually the factor that makes the difference. It may mean the difference between selling and not selling. It will almost certainly mean the difference between getting the best price and something less. Condition means more than keeping the mechanicals running and the systems in good shape. It means updating kitchens, bathrooms, wall coverings, floor coverings, light fixtures and even window coverings. You might be interested to know that folks who are selling their homes either are glad they made the improvements or wish they had so they could enjoy them before moving. So think about making regular improvements to your home while you still live there.

The number one improvement to increase the value of your home is also one of the least costly. You can guess what it is. PAINT! Yes paint, but not just any paint. Homeowners should still be tasteful in their color selections and be professional in its application, being careful not to get paint on wood work and trim and keeping clean lines between walls and ceilings.
